Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Eminem are the only artists on his level, according to DaBaby [Video]
His recent interview with My Expert Opinion with Math Hoffa revealed that DaBaby aspires to be among the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. The rapper, known for his hit song “BOP,” spoke confidently about where he sees himself going in the rap industry during his interview. Depending on what is selling at the time, Baby pens certain songs as a “business move.” On the other hand, when it comes to more serious music, where he can display his lyrical skills, Baby is confident he can compete with the biggest names. He’ll even go as far as to go on some beats as Eminem.
During the 4:48 mark, the 30-year-old said, “You gotta get Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, I don’t want to disrespect anybody.” DaBaby’s comments come after weeks of critics and fans debating whether or not the Grammy-nominated singer had fallen off. Baby’s album and ticket sales have declined in recent months. His viral buy one, get one free concert ticket deals have made him the target of social media jokes. Nevertheless, he doesn’t appear too phased by the backlash, even embracing it by sharing a video on Instagram showing a packed arena at one of his shows. He captioned the video, “Whoever paid these blogs to post that rubbish needs to spend their money elsewhere.”.

DaBaby has expressed his opinions about his status in hip-hop in the past, too. Also in February, DaBaby boasted of being one of the best artists in the game, comparing himself to Nas and Jay-Z. Is DaBaby close to reaching icon status, or does he still have a long way to go?
