Megan Thee Stallion Claims Tory Lanez Offered Her $1M in Hush Money Following 2020 Shooting [Video]

Megan Thee Stallion Claims Tory Lanez Offered Her $1M in Hush Money Following 2020 Shooting [Video]

During an interview with Gayle King released Monday, Megan Thee Stallion discussed Tory Lanez offering her $1 million to stay silent after allegedly shooting her in the foot.

Megan reflected on the evening in question telling Gayle, “This was one of those times where things shouldn’t have gone this insane.”

She said, “He is standing up over the window, shooting. I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick. … I was really scared because I had never been shot at before.”

Immediately after, she said Lanez apologized and made the $1 million offer.
“He’s [like], `I’m so sorry. Please don’t tell nobody. I’ll give y’all a million dollars if y’all don’t say nothing,”‘ she says Lanez said to her. “And I’m like, `What are you talking about?’ Like, `Why are you offering me money right now?’ Help me. Like, and if you’re sorry, just help me!”

Meg claims that she was leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house with her former friend, Kelsey Harris, Tory Lanez, and a driver/security team member during the night in question.
Allegedly, an argument ensued, prompting Megan to get out of the car, but she was then persuaded to get back in.
“The arguing in the car is getting worse, and I don’t wanna be in this car no more because I see it’s getting crazy,” she said.
Meg also claimed Tory told her to “dance, b*tch” before fire off the rounds,
In light of the numerous reports of police brutality throughout the country, Megan was skeptical that the responding officers would not escalate the situation.

“The George Floyd incident had just happened,” she said. “The police are definitely very much shot first; ask questions after. So I’m like, it’s a hot gun in the car, I’m bleeding, I’ve been shot. They’re about to kill somebody. Something bad is about to happen.”

Megan added that she initially informed authorities that her injuries were caused by stepping on glass as a result of this. “I didn’t want them to shoot or kill any of us,” she explained.
Lanez reportedly entered a not guilty plea to the charges stemming from the shooting. Megan stated that he has been “trying to deflect from the fact that he committed a crime.”
Gunshot residue was reported to have been found on Lanez’s hands, as well as Kelsey’s, at a previous preliminary hearing. According to the most recent information, a trial date has been set for September.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion says fellow rapper Tory Lanez offered her $1 million to keep quiet about shooting her in the foot in a 2020 incident in the Hollywood Hills, according to an interview that aired Monday.

The Houston rapper told CBS’ Gayle King that the shooting stemmed from an argument when she was ready to go home after a party at Kylie Jenner’s house but the other three people with her in the car — including Lanez — were not.

“I don’t want to be in this car no more. ‘Cause I see it’s getting crazy,” she said in the interview, which aired on “CBS Mornings.”

“So, I get out of the car, and it’s like, everything happens so fast. And all I hear is this man screaming. And he said, `Dance, bitch.’ And he started shooting. And I’m just like, `Oh, my God.’ Like, he shot a couple of times. And I — I was so scared.

“He is standing up over the window shooting. And I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick. Like, ’cause I’m like, `Oh, my God. If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s going to shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.”

” … I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before,” she added.

Megan Thee Stallion was giving her first public interview about the July 12, 2020 incident, which took place at around 4:30 a.m.

Lanez, a 29-year-old Canadian rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has pleaded not guilty to one count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The charges include allegations that he personally used a firearm and inflicted great bodily injury.

Lanez has been ordered by the judge in the case not to make any public mention of his fellow rapper. He was handcuffed in court and spent about five hours in custody earlier this month after his bail was increased by $100,000 for his alleged violation of the terms of a pre-trial protective order.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Herriford agreed with the prosecutor’s contention that some of Lanez’s recent social media posts appeared to be messages directed at Megan Thee Stallion.

During a preliminary hearing last year, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Ryan Stogner testified that he spoke with Megan Thee Stallion and that she told him that she heard Lanez say, “Dance, bitch,” before he fired at her as the bikini-clad woman got out of a Cadillac SUV for the second time that morning following an argument.

“No one heard, `Dance, bitch,’ except for Megan?” defense attorney Shawn Holley asked on cross-examination.

“Correct,” the detective responded.

Megan Thee Stallion described the injuries to her feet as “bleeding profusely” and said she fell to the ground and crawled to a nearby driveway, according to the detective. She said a female friend of hers who had been in the vehicle ran up to her afterward, along with Lanez, and that he “emphatically apologized for what he did” and offered to drive her home.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped by police officers responding to a call of a shooting, and she initially told officers and doctors that she had not been shot and that broken glass had caused the injuries to her feet, according to the detective.

Following his arrest, Lanez made a jailhouse phone call to the victim’s female friend as she waited at the hospital and “he continued to apologize for the incident that occurred” and explained that he was basically drunk, the investigating officer testified.

In an outburst from the opposite side of the courtroom during the Dec. 14 hearing, Lanez questioned aloud how the detective could tell why he was apologizing during the call.

“Does he say anything in the jail call about shooting?” Holley asked the detective.

“No,” Stogner responded.

The injured woman, who was bleeding, and Lanez were in the SUV that was stopped about a mile from the scene of where shots were reported, according to LAPD Officer Sandra Cabral.

A handgun that was “warm to the touch” was discovered inside the vehicle, and four spent casings were subsequently found at the scene, Cabral testified.

In a video posted on Instagram Live following the shooting, Megan Thee Stallion said, “Tory shot me. You shot me and you got your publicist and your people … lying … Stop lying.”

She said police officers drove her to a hospital, where she underwent surgery, and added that she was “incredibly grateful to be alive.”

In an op-ed published in the New York Times, she wrote that she was “recently the victim of an act of violence by a man” and that she was initially silent about what had happened “out of fear for myself and my friends.”

“Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment,” she wrote. “The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted.”

The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, gained fame in part through freestyling videos shared widely on Instagram. Her song “Savage” went viral on TikTok and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2020, while her provocative collaboration with Cardi B on “WAP” garnered her more attention.

In a posting last year on Twitter, Lanez wrote, “I have all faith in God to show that … love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart … a charge is not a conviction.”

Lanez released his fifth album “Daystar,” using multiple tracks to address the accusations. In one song he raps, “How the f— you get shot in your foot … don’t hit no bones or tendons?”

The trial is expected to begin in September.

Atlanta Braves 2021 World Series Ring Revealed, Has 755 Total Diamonds [Video]

Atlanta Braves 2021 World Series Ring Revealed

755 Total Diamonds

The Atlanta Braves World Series rings have been revealed after the team won the 2021 championship game.

The Braves opened up their 2022 season Thursday but had to wait until before Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds to reveal their 2021 World Series rings, the Bleacher Report reported.

The rings each feature 18.71-karat white gold on the “A” to represent the franchise’s start in 1871, and the “A” also has 150 diamonds to represent the club’s 150th anniversary.

The ring by itself has 755 total diamonds, 44 emerald-cut diamonds, and working lights on the inside.

And that’s not the only feature. It also has 11 rubies to symbolize the landing spots of the 11 home runs the team hit in the World Series.

The Braves beat the Houston Astros in six games during last year’s World Series to capture their first title since 1995.

Ring one-upping has become a tradition among MLB teams, and it was the Atlanta Braves’ turn this year.

The defending champions unveiled their 2021 championship ring on Saturday, with the usual suite of tortured math and unique touches from their improbable playoff run. Players received their rings in a ceremony before a game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Special numbers included 18.71-karat white gold in honor of the Braves’ founding in 1871 (as the Boston Red Stockings), 150 diamonds on the “A” to denote the team’s 150th anniversary last year, 755 total diamonds as a Hank Aaron tribute, 44 emerald-cut diamonds on the side as another Hank Aaron tribute and a pearl on the side in honor of Joc Pederson’s unusual pearl necklace fashion choice.

The real show is inside the ring, however, as it opens up to reveal a replica of Truist Park with working mini-stadium LED lights, said to be a first in championship ring history.

The Braves revealed even more interesting details in a subsequent breakdown. The ring also features 11 rubies representing where the team’s 11 World Series home runs were hit and 2021’s trade deadline inscribed on the inside, along with the player’s signature and series results.

If there was a team in MLB history that was going to put the trade deadline on its championship ring, it is the 2021 Braves.

All in all, the ring is gigantic, shiny and more than a little ridiculous. As all World Series rings should be. In a rare move, the ring is also available to the general public as an “add-on” to a $25,000 “World Champions Burger” at Triust Park. A replica ring (and burger) is also available for $151.

Best of luck to anyone who have to replace those lights in the future, though. Those probably aren’t available at Home Depot.

The Braves’ World Series ring is as wild as their 2021 championship season.

Jada Pinkett Smith Not Letting Slap Fallout Get in the Way of Supporting Her Friends

Jada Pinkett Smith Not Letting Slap Fallout Get in the Way of Supporting Her Friends

The actress and spouse of Will Smith showed up in support of Debbie Allen and Shonda Rhimes.

Jada Pinkett Smith, seemingly putting her husband’s nonsense behind her, made her first public appearance since Oscars night on Saturday evening. The actress and wife of Will Smith, who took it upon himself to stroll up to Chris Rock and whop him across the face during the Oscars telecast, appeared for red carpet pics with Shonda RhimesDebbie AllenSamuel L. Jackson, and LaTanya Richardson Jackson for the opening of the Rhimes Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles.

The Rhimes Center is the new home of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. The organization is over two decades old and its mission statement boasts that “with a focus on disenfranchised Black and Latino communities, the world class faculty and staff members of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy use dance, theater, and performance to enrich, inspire and transform the lives of their students.”

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Rhimes Center was on July 1, 2020. One of the facilities at the Rhimes, a “fly aerial studio,” will be named for Will and Jada, according to Broadway World.

While Jada was all smiles on the red carpet, l’affaire du Slap continues to resonate throughout Hollywood and the entire known universe. (It’s all anyone can talk about at the water coolers on Ganymede.) She has remained quiet about the incident, which began when Rock made a comment about her appearance (and a dated reference to G.I. Jane.) It remains unclear if Rock was aware that the actress has alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss. Beyond a vague comment about healing uploaded to her Instagram, she has not officially spoken on the matter.

Also on Saturday, actor Harry Lennix published an op-ed in Variety in which he argued that the 10-year banishment the Academy handed out to Smith is not enough. He called the punishment “little more than an extended time out for a playground bully,” and argued that the King Richard actor must voluntarily return his Oscar to restore honor to the ceremony.
