Tyga – “Lifetime” [MUSIC VIDEO]

Tyga – “Lifetime” [MUSIC VIDEO]

Tyga reflects on his life with Lifetime single and video

Tyga reflects on his life with Lifetime single and video Honestly, Tyga is one of the most misunderstood and unappreciated artists out. Constantly, Tyga is hit with ridicule, despite having several good records under his belt. Within the past decade, Tyga has given “Rack City,” “Ayo,” and “Taste.”

Tyga on Friday shared an introspective new track, titled “Lifetime,” along with an accompanying music video, which sees the 32-year-old artist playing pool in a high-rise building while wearing an all-red adidas tracksuit.

“Gotta manifest, gotta be best friends/Gotta be movin’ P, gotta tap in,” he raps. “Baby, you deserve better and I’m not him/But I know when we happy, we be locked in/And it’s some shit I just comprehend/Maybe I deserve better and you not her.”

The visual bounces back and forth between shots of the “Make It Nasty” rapper on his phone and scenes of a mysterious love interest, who poses by a floor-to-ceiling window and lounges in a luxurious bed, before the video’s completion. “Reflection’ life in real time,” he raps in the track’s outro, before asking, “Can I be with one soul for a lifetime?”

“Lifetime” arrives just over a month after the release of Tyga’s latest Doja Cat collab, “Freaky Deaky.” In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 earlier this year, the rapper said that “Freaky Deaky” was released as the first single off an upcoming album that is “about 80 percent done” and will most likely drop “sometime early summer.”

Tyga has not yet revealed additional information about the aforementioned album, though “Lifetime” will likely appear on the tracklist.

Tory Lanez punches Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, Speaking on + Meek Mill in New Single

Tory Lanez Drops A Track About Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, + Meek Mill

*Emoji eyes*

Tory Lanez dropped a new track called “Mucky James.”

In the song story raps,“They try to blackball me for money, but I ain’t goin’ out / I told myself I’ll stop this bullsh*t and not speak up more / I had to go through way more bullsh*t **** door.”

In another part of the song, he raps, “Not one of them n***as that be fakin’ what he feeling, I’m gon’ talk about it / Meek Mill, he used to be my dawg, he did some flaw sh*t to me / And when I brought it up, lil’ cuh wouldn’t even talk about it / Ain’t beefin’ with you cuh, I swear I’m more hurt than anything / I’m at this point in life where I don’t stress the petty thing.”

Tory mentioned Kehlani when he rapped, “Sometimes I think ’bout Kehlani and how we ended things / When I express myself I know that I can choose my words lil’ better.”

10th Annual ONE Musicfest

Tory Lanez is continuing to claim he is innocent in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting and this time he did it on a new song. On his latest single, Mucky James,” he rapped:

I was at a high in my career, you think I’d come out here and [shoot a b****?]
And if you think I’d do that s***, you on some stupid s***
I don’t need to do that s***, my Haitian hoes gon’ woo a b****
I can’t let temporary b****came out and ruined s***
They can’t beliеve I’m back poppin’, I’m out here doin’ s***
Hеy, Tory, stop talking ’bout it, I wish I could but dawg
I’m only human, sometimes that s*** be gettin’ to me, yeah
Not one of them n***** that be fakin’ what he feeling, I’m gon’ talk about it

With the release of this song, it seems he is blatantly violating a court order. In February 2021, a judge ruled that Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, couldn’t publicly comment on the case, Page Six reported. His lawyer, Shawn Holley, argued that this was unfair because Megan Thee Stallion is allowed to discuss the case freely. During a court appearance on April 5, a judge ruled that the Toronto-born rapper could no longer mention her on social media after they found Twitter posts that were blatantly referring to the case. At that same hearing, he was handcuffed and held on $350,000 bail when the judge ruled he violated a protective order put in place for Megan Thee Stallion.

The Houston Hottie isn’t the only one who was addressed on this song. Lanez also had a few words for Kehlani. He said:

Sometimes I think ’bout Kehlani and how we ended things
When I express myself I know that I can choose my words lil’ better
But I’m back out to the wall, you know the world against me
When your back against to the world, you just lose all affection

The last time he referred to Kehlani was on his track “Bittersweet” after she removed him from her song “Can I.”

Kehlani hops on the news like it was somethin’ to prove
Like me and her wasn’t cool when I been friends with you for six years
Plus, plus the crew and we can Google picture proof
Got my phone number too, you coulda called me
But you movin’ like we ain’t even crew, and you’d not rather hear my views?
We used to phone talk late about exes and all our pools
I held your newborn in my arms, tell me how we aren’t cool
Instead, you went to Twitter Shade Room to focus on your views

You was the quickest one to take me off records and set the mood

He also sent a shout out to Trina on “Mucky James,” saying that he owes her.

Been thinkin’ a lot ’bout Trina lately, I owe you twenty/20 M’s
Been havin’ the world all on my shoulders, but I ain’t forget about you
You held me down when I most needed, now I make plenty M’s

Take a listen:

This is following Tory’s arrest last week at a Los Angeles courthouse. A judge found that he violated protective orders with Megan Thee Stallion for his alleged shooting case. Tory was ordered to not talk about the case anymore, he did so anyway, was arrested, then later released after posting bond.

A Talented Las Vegas Teen “Rae Milli” is Ready to Shine Bright in a City Full of Stars

A Talented Las Vegas Teen “Rae Milli” is Ready to Shine Bright in a City Full of Stars

Rae Milli’s versatile waft and potential to sing and rap have drawn some excessive reward and comparisons.

Rae Milli, born Aiyana Evans, is creating a major buzz in a lot of music circles. A Las Vegas native who has been singing and dancing since she could walk has recently signed her first recording contract.

Being willing to bet on herself and follow her passion for creating music caused her to turn down four volleyball scholarships after graduating high school last year. That talent and passion got the attention of indie label, Evo Music Group who recently signed her and made Rae the first lady of EMG.

Her versatile flow and ability to sing and rap has drawn some high praise and comparisons. When asked about the fact that some of her work reminds people of a female Drake, Rae laughed and said “Hold up now, don’t go that far. Drake is an icon, I’m just getting started.”

Her humbleness is refreshing in this age of industry and social media bravado. She attributes that to her mother and father who keep her grounded. “My mom and dad are my biggest supporters but they say they keep the safety pin to pop my head if it gets too big.” Rae says as she shakes her head.

After hearing some of her newly mastered songs and the vision of which current big names are going to be on which ones, I’m predicting that Rae will soon be shining bright not just in Las Vegas but in the industry as a whole.

What Nems “Bing Bong” Remix Is Best? Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Trae Tha Truth, Paul Wall, Styles P Jump In!

What Nems “Bing Bong” Remix Is Best? Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Trae Tha Truth, Paul Wall, Styles P Jump In!

With Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Trae Tha Truth, Paul Wall, and Styles P all jump on the Nems remix of “Bing Bong.”

Back in August, Nems — who many might know from Sidetalk NYC or, more recently, REVOLT’s “The Crew League” — dropped off a hard-hitting single titled “Bing Bong,” which is taken from the equally dope project CONGO. Today (Mar. 17), the Coney Island talent unveils a remix of the track that sees additional assistance from Empire State heavyweights Styles P, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes, all of whom make little work of the Vinny Idol-produced cut with hard-hitting bars of their own:

“Ayo, pain don’t care ’bout son, put your lights out, know how many homies I seen die when its nights out, I’m the Big Daddy Kane wit’ the raw food, now what you want, huh? Dope or dog food, keep it a kilo, no one’s hard as me, birthed out the water, started chargin’ fees, surf in Maybachs, make it hard to breathe, so we posted on the ‘Gram for the gods to see, yo, I’m too G, Dapper Dan designed me, been freshman since the class of ’93…”

The success of “Bing Bong” has led to a remix project that, in addition to said remix, sees equally dope incarnations of the track with collaborations alongside the likes of Vado, Shoota93, Trae Tha Truth, and Paul Wall. Fans can also see a “Knicks remix” and other edits of the track to enjoy.

CONGO make landfall back in August and came with 14 tracks and additional features from Rixhie Racks, Black Savv, Tony Sunshine, UFO Fev, Eddie Kaine, Ill Bill, Rim, Spit Gemz, King Card, Nrok, and Dinero Daboss. Since then, Nems has found additional fame on the meme circuit, mainly thanks to his various sayings in videos for the aforementioned outlets.

Press play on Nems’ update of “Bing Bong” with Styles P, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes below, along with the full Bing Kong remix project and — if you missed it — a full stream of CONGO.

Watch the southerner sing her latest tune live.

Normani just dropped her super-anticipated new song “Fair,” and it is absolutely stunning. As she said in an Instagram post ahead of its release, “this song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments. sharing this record makes me uncomfortable because you have never really seen me in this light. definitely aware that you might feel like you don’t know much about me but that’s only because it’s what makes me feel protected. i am really forcing myself to let go here. this is huge for me and hopefully this piece of art resonates. love is beautiful yet so soooo terrifying 🖤 i adore you guys to the moon and back.”

Check out the lyrics to the song, courtesy of Genius:

Two-hundred days and countin’, I know
You’re my favorite still
When I say “I won’t”, tell myself I don’t
But I always will feel the way I feel
You have time to heal, I got time to kill

Playin’ my mind like I rehearsed it
I know I should repurpose
Ain’t no faking hurt like this, no
You carry her and all I carry are burdens
Time for me ain’t workin’
I know heartbreak ain’t perfect but

Is it fair that you moved on?
‘Cause I swear that I haven’t
Is it right that you’ve grown
And I’m still stuck in habits?
‘Cause I’m finding it strange
That you’re better than average
Hearts didn’t break down the middlе
Tell me how did that happen?

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh (Yеah, yeah)
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh (Better, better)

Baby, if we could trade places
So you’d feel betrayed
And I could feel shameless
I carry all of the weight
And you get all of the gains
I can take all the ways that she might touch you

‘Cause it plays in my mind like I rehearsed it
I know I should repurpose
Ain’t no faking hurt like this, no
You carry her and all I carry are burdens
Time for me ain’t workin’
I know heartbreak ain’t perfect but

Is it fair that you moved on? (No fair)
‘Cause I swear that I haven’t (No, ooh)
Is it right that you’ve grown
And I’m still stuck in habits?
‘Cause I’m finding it strange
That you’re better than average
Hearts didn’t break down the middle
Tell me how did that happen?

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh (Yeah, yeah)
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh (Better, better)

Ukrainian and Russian Journalists Are Raising Money To Survive

Ukrainian and Russian Journalists Are Raising Money To Survive

Media groups across Europe have raised more than $4 million between GoFundMe campaigns and direct donations for Ukrainian journalists fighting to sustain their coverage.

Ukrainian journalists, covering a war at home that not only threatens their lives, but also their livelihoods, are turning to crowdsourced funds to sustain coverage on the ground and even help relocate news hubs to neighboring countries. A consortium of media groups across Europe have raised more than $4 million in just over two weeks between between GoFundMe campaigns and direct donations, NiemanLab reports. About $1.5 million of those funds have been raised for the Kyiv Independent, and $2.5 million have gone toward other independent Ukrainian press.

The contributions are paying for emergency equipment and supplies such as bulletproof vests and helmets and covering Ukrainian media’s operational costs such as gas and IT, among other forms of support. The coalition of media groups, which includes The Fix, Are We Europe, Jnomics, and the Media Development Foundation, has seen “tremendous support” from Poland, Germany, and the Nordic countries, according to Zakhar Protsiuk, a managing editor at The Fix. “From the long-term perspective, we need to make sure that media, especially those of national significance, will continue to operate and report on the war effectively,” Protsiuk told NiemanLab—which is why some proceeds are helping Ukrainian journalists relocate to neighboring countries and set up hubs. Journalists who were forced to flee Russia are likewise trying to figure out how to rebuild their operations, including those from TV Rain—the last independent TV network in Russia—which went dark on March 3; on Monday, Puck’s Julia Ioffe started a GoFundMe on their behalf.

Meduza, the largest remaining Russian independent news outlet, is also turning to crowdfunding in an attempt to sustain what’s left of the country’s non-state approved reportage, which Vladimir Putin all but outlawed as he signed a law threatening journalists with up to 15 years in prison for calling his war on Ukraine a war (the Kremlin refers to it as a “special military operation”). Meduza asked the rest of the world for help on Monday in a crowdfunding campaign, saying that they had in recent weeks lost funding from 30,000 members—“since the outbreak of this war, transferring money from Russia to Europe has been impossible”—and asking the international community to take their place. “Save Meduza for our Russian readers—and for yourself,” Meduza staff wrote. “We have a duty to tell the truth,” and “millions of readers in Russia who need us.”

The Kremlin has previously tried to censor Meduza, which publishes both in Russian and in English, by tagging it as a “foreign agent,” a label the site was forced to disclose on its work and that caused Meduza to lose most of its advertisers. The newsroom survived thanks to the support of readers—Meduza is based in Latvia, but about 70 percent of their audience is inside Russia—more than 90,000 of which answered Meduza’s crowdfunding appeal to “save Meduza,” the New York Times reported last year. Now, having lost most of their donations and revenue streams from inside Russia, Meduza is hoping the rest of the world will contribute to a new crowdfunding campaign, one asking international donors “on behalf of the many Russians who cannot,” the campaign reads. “Without independent journalism, it will be impossible to stop this monstrous war.”
